Your Role

  • Offer online on-on-one tutoring in Rutgers courses you have interest, and are qualified to tutor, in.

  • Be a reliable, valuable, helpful, and knowledgeable resource for Rutgers students throughout an entire semester.

​

Required Qualifications

  • The ability to tutor on a consistent, weekly schedule. You can choose your own schedule and hours, as long as you commit to maintaining that general availability every week during the academic semester.

  • You are responsible to attend all scheduled sessions during your weekly availability, unless you manually block off a day or period of time, before a session is scheduled on or during that day or time. You are free to block off a certain day or period of time during your weekly availability, whenever you want, for whatever reason you wish, as much as you want. That being said, you must block it off before someone schedules a session with you during that day or time.

  • If you are applying to tutor a specific course, you must have taken the course before AND it is either part of your major or you use the skills you learned from this course on a regular basis.

Preferred Qualifications​

  • Either previous tutoring, mentoring, or TA experience.

  • The ability to occasionally assist with Troy Tutors tasks directly related to your tutoring role, if requested.

Assist with Troy Tutors operations. Troy Tutors is growing fast and we need someone who can offer platform support during times that the current operations team is in meetings or tutoring sessions.​

Your Role

  • Providing support for customers (students and parents) and for tutors. You would be be a point of contact for tutors, should any issues arise, and answer any questions customers may have about Troy Tutors.

  • Assist with interviewing and onboarding new tutors.

​

Required Qualifications

  • The ability to quickly respond to phone calls and emails.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Comfort talking with customers in stressful situations, related to classes or Troy Tutors.

​

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the course offerings and resources at Rutgers. Sometimes concerned parents and students need guidance on Rutgers resources and overall advice about the student experience at Rutgers.

  • A large amount of availability to quickly respond to customer support, throughout the week, should Troy Tutors be contacted.

  • Developing the core autograding technology.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous project or professional developing in either React.js or the Go Programming Language.

  • At least 15 hours of weekly availability.

  • Excellent collaboration skills and comfortable bringing new ideas to the table.

Software Engineer (CollabLab) - Part-time, Full-time, Internship - Send resume to apply@troytutors.com

CollabLab is an all-in-one collaborative software solution. It allows tutors, students, and remote software engineering companies to write code together in real-time, run it, draw on virtual whiteboards, hold one-on-one and group video calls, host live lectures and webinars, chat, and screen share. An all-in-one solution for all of these tasks does not exist anywhere else in the world!

Your Role

​You would either be working on

  • Adding account authentication and management to CollabLab.

  • Adding the ability to process payments and manage subscription services.

  • Adding useful tutoring tools to improve the virtual tutoring experience.

  • Implementing a sophisticated browser-based IDE which syncs with personal development environments.

  • Implementing systems designed for code security, for clients who host code on CollabLab.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous project or professional developing in either Vue.js or Node.js.

  • At least 15 hours of weekly availability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with either socket.io, database systems, or full-stack development.

  • Experience deploying web applications.

  • Familiarity with either Python, C++, C, or Java.

  • Adding autograding functionality for mathematics assignments.

  • Adding autograding functionality for papers and essays in a variety of disciplines.

  • Developing our AI TA chatbot.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong engineering background in either the AI industry, AI academia research, or implementing the AI Development Lifecycle

    • Within NLP.

    • Within OCR.

    • Within Conversational AI.

  • At least 10 hours of weekly availability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous publications in the field of artificial intelligence.

  • Previous project ownership in the field of artificial intelligence.

  • Projects in the field of artificial intelligence, which are publicly accessible for us to review.

The Troy Tutors Summer Internship program gives you an opportunity to work on a variety of projects and teams at Troy Tutors. Additionally, tutoring support is an essential part of the internship program.

​

Required Qualifications

  • Attending a bachelor program at an accredited university or 2 years of tutoring or lecturing experience.

  • Pursuing a STEM-related degree or tutoring-related/lecture-related experience in STEM.

  • The ability to intern between May 22, 2023 and August 7, 2023. Please note that we only offer this internship program in the summer. We do not make exceptions and do not offer this opportunity in the fall or spring.

​

​Preferred Qualifications

  • Tutoring experience.

  • Experience working on personal projects related to your major. For this position, we value personal projects more than prior internship experience and GPA. Personal projects show drive, passion, curiosity, and the enjoyment of problem-solving.
